By law every business or apartment block must have a designated ‘Responsible Person’ who is accountable for fire safety. As the "Responsible Person" you must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment which will identify what is required to prevent fire and keep people safe throughout your premises. If your business has 5 or more people you must keep a written record of your fire risk assessment.
We can provide a fire risk assessment package which is tailored to your building and business requirements. Once completed the assessment will detail any significant findings in writing and as part of the assessment an action plan will be formulated for the implementation of any necessary remedial action.
Your Fire Risk Assessment will address:
Management of fire safety in your premises
Sources of ignition and the potential for fire spread
The fire precautions in your premises
Maintenance of fire precautions in your premises
Penalties and Enforcement
You could be fined or go to prison if you do not follow fire safety regulations.
Who is responsible?
You are responsible for fire safety in business or non-domestic premises if you are:
An employer
The owner
The landlord
An occupier
Have control of the premises, for example a facilities manager or building manager
